Shadow puppets are a delightful, tech-free activity— The simplicity and creativity of it is so fun.  The best part is, you can make your own DIY Shadow Puppet Theater at home!  It is so incredibly simple to make and when it comes to puppets you can either purchase lovely sets like these, or do something very simple and make them at home.  Either way it is the perfect way for your kids to use their imagination.

DIY Shadow Puppet Theater

Supplies     

• Cardboard Box
• X-acto knife/box cutter **Adult assistance is
  required when using sharp
  objects such as box cutters.
• Parchment paper, wax paper, or tissue paper
• Tape

1.) Step one- Have an adult cut a square or
rectangle hole in the front of the box. 

2.) Step two- On the inside of the box, fit a piece of
parchment paper to the hole and tape the edges down.

3.) Step three- Place a flashlight,
smartphone with light on, or small reading light behind
your puppet theater and let the show begin!

If you like, paint, color, or decorate the front of your theater.
